Apple Set to Unveil Smaller, More Powerful Mac Mini
Apple is preparing to launch a significantly redesigned Mac mini, according to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The new model is expected to be substantially smaller than its predecessor, approaching the size of an Apple TV set-top box.
The upcoming Mac mini, which sits between the iMac and professional-grade desktops in Apple’s product lineup, will reportedly feature two front ports and up to three backports on some models. In a notable advancement, the device is said to introduce first-time support for ray tracing graphics, potentially making it “the most impressive Mac yet to use Apple’s in-house silicon.”
This revamped Mac mini is part of a broader refresh of Apple’s device lineup. The tech giant is also expected to introduce a 24-inch iMac, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and two configurations of the 14-inch MacBook Pro. All these devices will be powered by Apple’s latest M4 chip, signaling a significant upgrade across the company’s computer range.
In addition to the Mac updates, Gurman’s report hints at a new product category for Apple. The company is rumored to be developing a smart home display, described as being approximately the size of two iPhones placed side by side. This device is expected to feature a small base reminiscent of the iMac G4 and include built-in speakers.
