Volkswagen has officially announced the pricing, battery range, and initial options for the highly anticipated ID Buzz in the United States. The electric vehicle, set to hit American roads later this year, will start at $59,995 for the Pro S model.
The Pro S variant comes standard with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and a seven-seat configuration. This long-wheelbase version, specifically designed for the American market, boasts an EPA-estimated range of 234 miles for RWD models and 231 miles for 4Motion all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. Both utilize a sizable 91kWh battery, though initial expectations had suggested a range closer to 300 miles on a single charge.
For those seeking additional features, the Pro S Plus model starts at $63,495 for RWD with bench seating, while the AWD version, equipped with six seats and captain chairs, begins at $67,995. The Plus trim includes premium features such as a heads-up display, “Area View” surround cameras for easier parking, a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system with 14 speakers, and easy open and close functionality on dual power sliding rear doors.
Volkswagen is also offering a launch-only First-Edition model, starting at $65,495 for RWD (five seats) and $69,995 for AWD (six seats). This special edition includes a unique dune interior package and several two-tone exterior color options, featuring Candy white on top paired with cabana blue, orange, or green. Based on the Pro S trim, the First-Edition adds special 20-inch wheels, roof rail crossbars, special badging, easy doors, an upgraded audio system, and an electrochromic panoramic glass roof.
