Digital Foundry, a respected technology analysis outlet, has shared details from the PS5 Pro review unit manual, offering a comprehensive look at the upgraded hardware.
The PS5 Pro boasts significant improvements over its predecessor, featuring an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core/16-thread processor and an RDNA-based graphics engine capable of 16.7TF of GPU compute performance. This marks a substantial increase from the base PS5’s 10.23TF GPU performance, promising enhanced gaming experiences across the board.
In terms of memory, the PS5 Pro comes equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, supplemented by an additional 2GB of slower DDR5 memory dedicated to non-gaming tasks. Storage has also seen an upgrade, with the console featuring a 2TB custom SSD.
Power consumption for the new console reaches a maximum of 390W, compared to the 340W of the PS5 Digital Edition. However, Sony notes that actual power draw may vary depending on usage.
Alongside the hardware specifications, Sony’s official PlayStation blog has announced a list of 55 games that will receive PS5 Pro enhancements. This impressive lineup includes both upcoming titles and fan favorites, such as “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” “Star Wars: Outlaws,” “Alan Wake 2,” “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” “Baldur’s Gate 3,” “God of War Ragnarök,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” and “The Last of Us Part II Remastered,” among many others.
