Serene Industries Unveils Luxury “Icebreaker” Mechanical Keyboard
Serene Industries has announced the launch of its high-end mechanical keyboard, the “Icebreaker,” setting a new standard in luxury computer peripherals. This statement piece, constructed from a single block of CNC-machined aluminum, is now available for preorder with prices starting at $1,500 for the wired version.
The Icebreaker boasts a range of premium features, including hot-swappable aluminum keycaps with configurable RGB backlighting. For those seeking wireless functionality, a Bluetooth version equipped with magnetic hall effect switches is available at $1,600. The base model comes in a clear finish, while a black option is offered at an additional $500.
Measuring 450 x 44 x 24mm, the Icebreaker adopts a 65 percent layout and showcases a wedge-shaped design inspired by New York City’s iconic Flatiron Building. The keyboard’s brutalist aesthetic is complemented by practical elements such as an integrated EC11 rotatory dial and dual silicone dampeners for noise reduction.
Other notable features include a 4,000 mAh battery providing an estimated three-month battery life for the wireless model, micro-perforations on keycaps for LED backlighting, and 1/4-20 inch mounting points for accessory attachments.
Serene Industries aims to challenge prevailing keyboard design trends with the Icebreaker, targeting keyboard collectors seeking a unique and niche product. While no specific delivery date has been announced, production is set to commence following the closure of preorders on January 28th.
As the mechanical keyboard market continues to evolve, the Icebreaker represents a bold step into the ultra-premium segment, potentially reshaping expectations for high-end computer peripherals.
