Samsung Unveils Galaxy S25 Ultra with Design Overhaul and AI Enhancements
Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S25 Ultra, introducing significant design changes and hardware updates while maintaining its signature stylus feature. The new flagship device, set to ship on February 7th, retains last year’s starting price of $1,299.
The S25 Ultra showcases a fresh look with rounded corners and flat edges, resulting in a slightly smaller and lighter form factor compared to its predecessor. The device boasts a larger 6.9-inch screen with slimmer bezels, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
Under the hood, Samsung has equipped the S25 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor across all regions, ensuring consistent performance worldwide. The company has also committed to providing seven years of OS updates and security patches, addressing long-term software support concerns.
Notable hardware changes include the replacement of Bixby with Google Gemini as the default virtual assistant. The S Pen, while still present, has lost its Bluetooth functionality, limiting air gesture controls. Camera improvements feature a new 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, replacing the previous 12-megapixel module, along with enhanced algorithmic image processing for superior zoomed image detail. Video enthusiasts will appreciate the introduction of the Galaxy Log profile and custom LUT options.
Samsung has placed significant emphasis on AI capabilities in its latest One UI 7.0 software. The update integrates AI across various apps, automating tasks such as calendar updates and email notifications. A new suggested routines feature aims to streamline frequent settings adjustments.
While the S25 Ultra leads the charge in AI integration, Samsung has confirmed that many of these features will be available on older devices where possible. However, some AI updates for previous models may come at an additional cost.
The Galaxy S25 series, including the Ultra model, is scheduled to hit shelves on February 7th, marking another milestone in Samsung’s smartphone innovation journey.
