Raspberry Pi Unveils Powerful New All-in-One Computer: The Raspberry Pi 500

Raspberry Pi has announced the launch of its latest all-in-one computer, the Raspberry Pi 500. This new device combines the power of the Raspberry Pi 5 with the convenience of a keyboard form factor, offering users a streamlined computing experience.

The Raspberry Pi 500 is designed for simplicity, concealing its internal components within a sleek keyboard housing. This makes it an ideal replacement for outdated PCs, requiring only a mouse and display for a complete setup.

At the heart of the Raspberry Pi 500 is a 64-bit quad-core Arm processor, identical to that found in the Raspberry Pi 5. The device boasts 8GB of RAM and features dual micro-HDMI ports capable of supporting up to two 4K displays. It also includes three traditional USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 40-pin expansion header. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support round out its connectivity options.

Staying true to Raspberry Pi’s educational roots, the 500 model is positioned as an excellent first computer for schools. Its customizable nature and affordability make it a compelling alternative to Chromebooks or iPads, encouraging creative thinking and problem-solving among students.

The Raspberry Pi 500 is priced at $90, a $20 increase from its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 400. It comes with a 32GB SD card preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS. Initially, the device will be available with U.K. and U.S. keyboard layouts, with additional variants including French, German, and Italian expected shortly.

For those seeking a complete package, a $120 desktop kit is available, which includes all necessary peripherals.

In conjunction with the Raspberry Pi 500 launch, the company has also introduced a new 15.6-inch 1080p Raspberry Pi Monitor. Priced at $100, this display is tailored for Raspberry Pi enthusiasts and further expands the ecosystem of branded accessories.

The Raspberry Pi 500 and its accompanying monitor are now available for purchase, marking a significant step forward in the company’s mission to provide accessible, powerful computing solutions for education and creative pursuits.
