Nintendo Announces Direct Stream for Donkey Kong Country Theme Park Area
Nintendo has revealed plans for a special Nintendo Direct stream focused on the upcoming Donkey Kong Country area at Universal Studios Japan. The livestream is scheduled for Monday, November 11, at 5 PM ET, and will showcase the highly anticipated theme park expansion dedicated to the iconic video game character.
The Donkey Kong area, initially confirmed in 2021, is set to be a significant addition to the Super Nintendo World theme park. One of the main attractions will be a mine cart rollercoaster ride, promising “jaw-dropping maneuvers” that include being “blasted out of a barrel” and “jumping over gaps.” A digital render of the area was released earlier this year, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect.
This expansion is part of a broader growth strategy for Super Nintendo World. The Orlando, Florida version of the park is slated to open on May 22nd, 2025, and will feature all the attractions present in its Osaka counterpart, ensuring a comprehensive experience across locations.
The upcoming Nintendo Direct livestream is expected to last approximately 10 minutes and will focus solely on the Donkey Kong Country area at Universal Studios Japan. Nintendo has clarified that no new game information will be shared during this presentation.
In addition to the thrilling Mine-Cart Madness rollercoaster, visitors can look forward to Donkey Kong-themed merchandise and interactive experiences throughout the area. These new features will complement the existing themed attractions in other parts of the park, maintaining a cohesive and immersive environment for guests.
As the opening date approaches, this Nintendo Direct stream offers fans an exclusive look at what promises to be an exciting addition to the Super Nintendo World experience.
