Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Swings onto PC: Release Date, Enhancements, and Where to Buy

Sony Announces Spider-Man 2 PC Release for January 30th

Sony has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated PC version of “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” will be available on January 30th. The game will be released simultaneously on Steam and the Epic Game Store, bringing the web-slinging action to PC gamers just months after its PlayStation 5 debut.

The PC port, developed by Nixxes Software, will include the base game along with all downloadable content (DLC). Players can expect access to the New Game Plus mode and additional spider suits that have been added since the game’s initial console release.

PC-specific enhancements are a key feature of this port. Gamers will benefit from full keyboard and mouse support, ultra-widescreen compatibility, and a wide array of graphical options. The port also boasts enhanced ray-tracing capabilities, promising to push visual fidelity even further on capable hardware.

Nixxes Software, known for their expertise in PC ports, has previously handled the PC versions of “Spider-Man,” “Miles Morales,” and “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.” Their involvement in the upcoming “Horizon Zero Dawn” remaster further cements their role in Sony’s PC strategy.

This release is part of Sony’s broader initiative to bring PlayStation exclusives to the PC platform. The company recently launched a PC overlay in June, coinciding with the “Ghost of Tsushima” port. Notably, “Spider-Man 2” represents the fastest transition of a major PlayStation 5 title to PC, signaling Sony’s commitment to reducing the gap between console and PC releases.

While the PC version promises technical enhancements, Sony has confirmed that no new story content is planned for “Spider-Man 2” on any platform. The focus remains on delivering the core experience with improved performance and visual options for PC users.

As the January 30th release date approaches, PC gamers can look forward to swinging through New York City with Peter Parker and Miles Morales, experiencing the acclaimed sequel with all the benefits that high-end PC hardware can offer.
