French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Liz Truss met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The leaders expressed their wish for close coordination between France and the UK in the international arena. Macron and Truss analyzed the situation in Ukraine, in particular around the Zaporizhzhia NPP. ‘They agreed to stay in touch to strengthen security, humanitarian and economic support for Ukraine, as well as to respond to the needs expressed by Kyiv in the best possible way,’ said the Elysee Palace. The two leaders also discussed the Russian aggression’s implications for global energy security.
