LG Unveils New Gram and Gram Pro Laptops with Advanced AI Features
LG Electronics has announced the launch of its latest Gram and Gram Pro laptop models, introducing ultra-light devices equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities. The new lineup distinguishes between the standard Gram and the more powerful Gram Pro series, catering to a wide range of user needs.
The flagship models in the new series include 17-inch and 16-inch LG Gram Pro laptops. These devices boast impressive specifications, with the 17-inch model weighing just 1.44kg and featuring a 2560×1600 display. The 16-inch variant, slightly lighter at 1.19kg, offers a 3200×2000 resolution screen. Both models come with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 2TB of NVMe SSD storage.
In terms of processing power, LG has partnered with Intel to integrate the latest chipsets. The 16-inch Gram Pro stands out as the first Copilot Plus PC, utilizing Intel’s Lunar Lake Core Ultra V-Series processor. Meanwhile, the 17-inch model is equipped with the Arrow Lake Core Ultra H-Series processor, ensuring robust performance across the range.
Graphics capabilities have also received a significant upgrade. The 16-inch models feature Intel Arc GPUs, while the 17-inch Gram Pro boasts an Nvidia GeForce RTX4050, providing enhanced visual performance for demanding tasks.
One of the most notable advancements in the new Gram series is the integration of AI-powered features. LG has introduced on-device AI capabilities through Gram Chat On-Device, which utilizes LG AI Research’s EXAONE model. This feature allows for offline functionality, including the innovative Time Travel feature for revisiting recent files.
Complementing the on-device AI, LG also offers cloud-based AI features. Gram Chat Cloud, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4, integrates with calendar and email services to provide a comprehensive AI assistant experience. This service will be free for the first year, requiring an internet connection for operation.
LG has also enhanced its Gram Link feature, now in version 2.0. This update streamlines document and file sharing between devices and even allows users to answer phone calls through their laptops, further integrating mobile and PC experiences.
Looking ahead, LG plans to introduce the entry-level Gram Book to the US market. This model will feature an Intel Core i5 processor, a 14-inch 1920×1200 display, a 1080p webcam, and options for up to 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM.
With these new releases, LG continues to push the boundaries of laptop technology, combining ultra-light designs with powerful AI capabilities to meet the evolving needs of modern users.
