By Will Feuer

Quantum-computing company IonQ said it secured a $13.4 million contract to supply the U.S. Air Force Research Lab with access to its trapped ion systems for quantum computing hardware research and the development of quantum algorithms.

IonQ said the Air Force Research Lab contract was included in its booking forecast. The company affirmed its full-year and current-quarter revenue guidance.

IonQ said that in the past 12 months it has done research for and established commercial relationships with Airbus SE, General Electric Co.’s research division, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Hyundai Motor Co. and others.

Shares of IonQ jumped more than 10% in premarket trading to $5.27. Before Friday’s gains, the stock was down more than 71% so far this year.
