Google Photos Unveils Advanced Video Editing Tools for Android Users
Google has rolled out a suite of new video editing features for Android users of its popular Google Photos app, significantly expanding its functionality. The update brings tools previously exclusive to high-end devices to a broader user base, allowing for more sophisticated video manipulation without the need for the latest Pixel 9 phone.
The enhanced toolkit includes options to speed up, slow down, and improve video clips with unprecedented ease. Additionally, AI-powered video presets are now available on both Android and iOS platforms, offering a range of effects such as trims, zooms, and slow-motion sequences.
Users will notice a refreshed app interface, designed for a cleaner look and more intuitive video editing experience. The new trim tool features improved controls with larger, thicker handles for easier manipulation, and on-screen timestamps for precise editing. This tool is readily accessible when editing a video and can be revisited through the Video button.
A notable addition is the auto-enhance feature, which analyzes clips to apply color enhancements and stabilization automatically. Users can preview and toggle these changes, with the option to save enhanced videos separately or apply stabilization without altering colors.
The speed tool introduces granular control over video pacing, allowing adjustments from quarter-speed to four times the original speed. Users can apply these changes to specific sections of a clip and preview results before saving.
Google Photos has also introduced AI-powered video presets for both Android and iOS users. These presets, including “Basic cut,” “Slow-mo,” “Zoom,” and “Track,” are applied based on video content, offering easy editing options for users of all skill levels.
All these new features allow users to save their edited videos as separate files, preserving the original content. This update represents a significant step forward in mobile video editing capabilities, bringing professional-grade tools to the fingertips of everyday users.
