Elon Musk’s DOGE Commission Seeks Top Talent for 80-Hour Workweeks to Slash Federal Spending

Musk and Ramaswamy’s DOGE Commission Launches Recruitment Drive

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a commission spearheaded by tech mogul Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, has announced a recruitment drive for a limited number of full-time, salaried positions. This initiative comes as part of DOGE’s ambitious goal to slash federal spending by $2 trillion and significantly reduce regulations.

Operating independently from the federal government, DOGE lacks direct authority to alter laws or agencies. However, its influence has been felt in recent legislative actions, underscoring its potential impact on government operations.

The commission is currently seeking candidates for roles in software engineering, information security engineering, human resources, IT, and finance. Interested applicants are instructed to submit their resumes and interest bullet points via direct message to DOGE’s official account. While compensation details remain unclear, previous statements have suggested that some positions might be unpaid.

DOGE’s recruitment process appears to be highly selective, with the commission’s X account stating that thousands have expressed interest. The focus is reportedly on the top 1% of applicants, with a particular emphasis on technical roles. Candidates are expected to demonstrate exceptional ability and must be prepared to work over 80 hours per week.

Vinay Hiremath, a former tech executive, shared insights into his experience with DOGE. Hiremath described an intensive onboarding process and immediate immersion into various teams during his four-week tenure, highlighting the commission’s fast-paced work environment.

In related news, President-elect Donald Trump has announced William Joseph McGinley as the commission’s counsel. Additionally, Katie Miller, former deputy press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, is set to join the commission, further bolstering its leadership team.

As of now, representatives for Musk, Ramaswamy, and Trump have not responded to requests for comment. Similarly, DOGE’s official X account has remained silent on direct messages seeking additional information.

This recruitment drive marks a significant step in DOGE’s efforts to reshape government efficiency, though the full impact of the commission’s work remains to be seen.
