Elon Musk Denies Gifting Cybertruck to Chechen Warlord
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has vehemently denied claims that he provided a machine gun-equipped Cybertruck to Ramzan Kadyrov, the controversial leader of the Russia-annexed Chechen Republic. The allegation, which originated from Kadyrov himself, has sparked a flurry of denials from Musk on social media.
In a Telegram post, Kadyrov suggested that Musk had gifted him a Cybertruck, referring to it as the “Cyberbeast.” The claim quickly gained traction after being reported by CNN, with Kadyrov expressing enthusiasm about testing the new equipment.
Responding to the allegations on X (formerly Twitter), Musk emphatically denied the claim, using strong language to express his disbelief. “This is 100% false. I’ve never even communicated with Kadyrov, let alone given him anything,” Musk stated, adding that he would not donate a Cybertruck to a Russian general.
Despite Musk’s denials, the story continued to circulate widely on social media platforms. In response to another user’s post suggesting that Kadyrov might have obtained the Cybertruck through alternative means, Musk doubled down on his denial. “The claim is false. Kadyrov was likely joking,” he reiterated.
While Musk’s denials appear credible, some observers note that his perceived pro-Russian stance during the ongoing Ukraine invasion may have contributed to the believability of Kadyrov’s claim among certain circles.
As this story continues to develop, it highlights the challenges of navigating information in the age of social media, where claims can spread rapidly regardless of their veracity.
