DirecTV Stream Unveils MySports: Affordable Sports Streaming Package at $69.99/Month

DirecTV Stream Launches MySports Package, Offering Affordable Sports-Focused Streaming

DirecTV Stream has introduced a new sports-centric streaming package called MySports*beta*, providing a more affordable alternative to its existing plans. The new offering combines sports networks from DirecTV Stream’s base and higher-tier plans, catering to sports enthusiasts looking for a streamlined viewing experience.

Priced at $69.99 per month, MySports includes popular channels such as ESPN, TNT, ACC Network, SEC Network, and truTV. This package is notably cheaper than subscribing to DirecTV Stream’s Entertainment plan and adding the Sports Pack. As an introductory offer, new subscribers can enjoy MySports for $49.99 per month for the first three months, resulting in a $60 savings.

The MySports package is currently available in 24 major metropolitan areas, with channel availability varying by market. While the package offers a comprehensive sports lineup, some local channels may be missing compared to other DirecTV Stream plans. New users can take advantage of a five-day free trial, and the offer is valid until February 28, 2025.

One of the package’s highlights is the inclusion of unlimited cloud DVR recordings, allowing subscribers to save their favorite sports content for later viewing.

Channel availability in the MySports package differs by region but generally includes major sports networks. Some non-sports channels like CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, and Fox News are available in select areas. However, the package does not include ION, Tennis Channel, and some local networks. It’s worth noting that regional sports networks are not part of the MySports offering.

For those seeking alternatives, DirecTV Stream continues to offer its existing plans: Entertainment ($86.99/month), Choice ($114.99/month), and Ultimate ($129.99/month). All plans come with introductory discounts and a five-day free trial for new customers.

Competitors in the streaming market include Fubo, with plans starting at $79.99 per month, and Sling TV, offering packages ranging from $45.99 to $60.99 per month. Sling TV’s Orange + Blue bundle provides a similar channel lineup to MySports at a lower cost, including ESPN, TNT, TBS, FS1, and NFL Network, with additional channels available for extra fees.

As the streaming landscape continues to evolve, DirecTV Stream’s MySports package represents a targeted approach to capture the sports-viewing audience with a more affordable and focused offering.
