Dennis Lynch’s MADSX Fund Rebounds: Named Investor of the Month After 2022 Slump

Dennis Lynch Named Business Insider’s Investor of the Month for January

Business Insider has announced Dennis Lynch as its Investor of the Month for January, recognizing his MADSX fund’s significant recovery following a challenging 2022. The fund, known for its focus on consumer discretionary and technology stocks, has shown remarkable performance with notable holdings in companies such as Tesla and Cloudflare.

Lynch, renowned for his high-growth investment strategy, faced setbacks during the growth-stock downturn in 2022. The MADSX fund experienced a substantial decline from November 2021 to January 2023. However, the fund has since rebounded impressively, posting a 48% increase in 2023 and a further 39% rise in 2024. This upward trend has continued into 2025, with the fund already showing a 9% growth.

The MADSX fund’s portfolio remains heavily concentrated in the consumer discretionary and technology sectors. Key holdings include industry giants like Tesla, Cloudflare, DoorDash, Shopify, and Roblox. January saw particularly strong performances from Cloudflare, Roblox, and Snowflake, contributing significantly to the fund’s overall success.

Lynch’s investment philosophy emphasizes fundamental research and secular growth, with a long-term investment horizon of five years. This approach allows the fund to focus on what Lynch considers the best long-term investment opportunities in the market.

Business Insider’s Investor of the Month selection criteria include consideration of US-listed mutual funds or ETFs, outperformance of peers and benchmark indices, and the exclusion of leveraged funds. The publication maintains a year-to-date leaderboard to track top performers throughout the year.

As of the latest update, the Kinetics Paradigm Fund leads the leaderboard with a 12.48% growth, while Lynch’s MADSX fund holds the third position with a 9.86% increase. Business Insider will continue to provide regular updates on these top-performing funds as the year progresses.
