Apple’s iPhone Lineup Set for Major Shakeup in 2025, Leaks Suggest
In a move that could redefine its smartphone offerings, Apple is reportedly planning significant changes to its iPhone lineup for 2025. According to a recent leak from the typically reliable Weibo user Digital Chat Station, the tech giant may standardize high-refresh-rate displays across all iPhone 17 models, a feature currently exclusive to the “Pro” variants.
The leak aligns with previous supply chain rumors suggesting Apple’s intention to implement LTPO panel technology across its entire iPhone range. This technology, which enables the variable refresh rate “ProMotion” feature in current iPhone Pro models, could become a standard offering in all future iPhones.
In addition to display upgrades, the leak hints at a potential restructuring of the iPhone lineup. A new “iPhone 17 Slim” model may replace the current “Plus” variant in 2025, potentially featuring ProMotion technology. This move could signal Apple’s shift towards differentiating its models through other features beyond display technology.
One such differentiating factor might be the design of the Face ID sensor and Dynamic Island cutout. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to feature a smaller version of these elements. Additionally, RAM configurations are expected to see an increase, with Pro models potentially boasting 12GB and standard and Slim models featuring 8GB.
