Apple Vision Pro Gets Major Upgrade: visionOS 2.4 Introduces Game-Changing Features

Apple Enhances Vision Pro Experience with visionOS 2.4 Update

Apple is set to address usability challenges with its Vision Pro headset through the introduction of visionOS 2.4. The upcoming update, currently available in beta for developers, brings significant improvements to the guest user experience and introduces new apps for content discovery.

A key feature of the update is the new Vision Pro App for iOS, which allows users to browse the visionOS App Store without wearing the headset. This app enables remote installation of applications and the ability to queue videos on the headset directly from an iPhone, providing a convenient alternative to searching for recommendations online or using Apple’s Vision Pro app page.

The improved Guest Mode simplifies the process of sharing the Vision Pro headset with others. Owners will receive a prompt on their iPhone or iPad to approve guest mode and can select which apps guests can access, as well as decide on AirPlay options. However, guest profiles will still have a 30-day reset limit, requiring periodic setup.

Additional features in the update include the ability to view headset information, such as the serial number, via the app. Prescription lens users can now store their App Clip code for ZEISS Optical Inserts. The app will automatically download with iOS 18.4 for Vision Pro owners and will be available separately for non-owners.

Apple is also introducing the Spatial Gallery App, offering a curated collection of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas. This app will include exclusive content, such as behind-the-scenes clips from Apple TV shows, aimed at highlighting the Vision Pro’s capabilities. The Spatial Gallery App will be available for Vision Pro owners with the release of visionOS 2.4 in April.

These updates demonstrate Apple’s commitment to enhancing the user experience and showcasing the potential of its mixed reality technology. As the Vision Pro ecosystem continues to evolve, users can expect further refinements and features in future updates.
