Musk’s comments shed light on the size of Twitter as a company compared to other tech giants such as Amazon or Uber which have hundreds of thousands more employees than Twitter does. In addition to this information, Musk also discussed his opinion about how much power social media companies have in today’s world and what he believes should be done about it.
He argued for greater regulation to prevent abuses from occurring within these platforms, citing examples such as bots being used to influence public opinion and spread false information online without accountability or repercussion. He believes that if governments don’t step up their efforts in regulating these companies soon then we could see serious consequences arise from unchecked corporate power over our lives through technology-based products and services like social media networks.
