Robotic dry-cleaning start-up Presso has raised $8m in seed funding from investors, including Uncork Capital, 1517 Fund, AME Cloud Ventures, HAX, SOSV, Pathbreaker Ventures, VSC Ventures and YETI Capital. The funding brings the company’s total to $10.1m.
The funding will be used to grow Presso’s headcount from 14 to 20-25 over the next year. The company also plans to scale its product and service its 80-plus bookings. Presso uses a hardware-as-a-service model to lease its dry-cleaning kiosks to clients, who set prices for cleaning and take a revenue share. Additionally, the company has also developed its own, greener fluid for the cleaning process.
