Stellantis is making better progress with cost savings than expected. The company formed early last year through the merger of Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot. It said it had already hit about 3.2 billion euros, equivalent to $3.6 billion, of a €5 billion target for deal synergies. That figure puts it well ahead of schedule, putting it ahead of its expected target of $5 billion for synergies, it says. It is the first major car maker to generate cash rather than be compared to Tesla’s Model S and U.S. car maker in the past decade to generate more than $1 billion a year.
