Hungarian Secret Services Protect Woman Linked to Lebanon, Syria Pager Explosions
The CEO of Budapest-based BAC Consulting, Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono, is currently under the protection of Hungarian secret services following her alleged connection to the recent pager explosions in Lebanon and Syria. The attacks, which killed at least 37 people and wounded more than 3,000, have sparked international concern and scrutiny.
Bársony-Arcidiacono has not made any public appearances since the incident. Her mother, Beatrix Bársony-Arcidiacono, confirmed that her daughter is receiving protection due to threats and has been advised by Hungarian secret services not to speak with the media. Hungary’s national security authorities have not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
The explosions have been attributed to Hezbollah and the Lebanese government, who have pointed fingers at Israel. However, Israel has neither confirmed nor denied involvement in the attacks.
BAC Consulting’s role in the incident revolves around its connection to Gold Apollo, a Taiwanese firm that authorized the company to use its name on the pagers. The Hungarian government has stated that while BAC Consulting acted as an intermediary, the pagers were never physically present in Hungary.
Further investigation into BAC Consulting reveals a complex corporate structure. The company, which shares a building with other enterprises in Budapest but lacks physical offices, reported revenues of $725,000 in 2022 and $593,000 in 2023. Its official functions span a wide range of industries, from sugar production to natural gas extraction.
Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono, born in Sicily and educated in Italy and the UK, has an extensive background in international affairs and physics. She incorporated BAC Consulting in May 2022 after working in various European cities. Her social media presence depicts a well-traveled individual with occasional political commentary.
As the investigation continues, the international community awaits further developments in this complex and far-reaching case.
