Sony Unveils Remastered ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ for PS5 and PC
Sony has officially announced a remastered version of the popular action role-playing game “Horizon Zero Dawn” during its recent State of Play event. The enhanced edition will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC starting October 31st, featuring “stunning new visuals and enhanced features.”
Rumors of the remaster first surfaced in 2022, with speculation gaining traction after an ESRB rating for the PS5 and PC versions was spotted last week.
“Horizon Zero Dawn,” originally launched in 2017, puts players in control of Aloy, a hunter navigating a postapocalyptic world inhabited by mechanical creatures. The game’s unique blend of bow-and-spear combat and stealth mechanics quickly garnered critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase.
This isn’t the first time “Horizon Zero Dawn” has seen updates. The game was ported to PC in 2020, and a PS5 update in 2021 unlocked 60 frames per second gameplay. However, this remaster promises to push the visual boundaries even further, with expectations that it will showcase even more impressive graphics on the upcoming PS5 Pro, set to launch in November.
For existing owners of the game, Sony has announced an upgrade path to the remastered version for $9.99, making it accessible for both new and returning players to experience Aloy’s adventure in its most polished form yet.
As the release date approaches, fans and newcomers alike eagerly anticipate exploring the beautifully rendered world of “Horizon Zero Dawn” with enhanced visuals and features on next-generation hardware.
