The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average shed about 85 points, or 0.3%, to end near 32,160. For the week so far, the Dow was down 2.3%; the S&P 500 off 3% and the Nasdaq 3.4% lower. The consumer price index is expected to have eased to 8.1% in April from 8.5% printed a month earlier. The 10-year Treasury rate fell 9 basis points Tuesday to 2.99% as rising bond yields somewhat moderated. The SPX rose 0.25% Tuesday, while the SPX closed up 0.2% Tuesday.
