LG Expands Zero Connect Box Technology to QNED Evo Mini LED Lineup
LG Electronics is set to broaden the availability of its innovative Zero Connect Box technology, initially introduced with the M Series OLED in 2023. The company announced that this wireless solution will now be featured in its QNED Evo Mini LED lineup, marking a significant expansion of the technology’s reach.
The Zero Connect Box, which debuted at CES with premium pricing, is becoming more accessible to consumers. This technology allows for the wireless transmission of audio and video to the TV panel, capable of beaming 4K video at up to 144Hz. Notably, the system has demonstrated robust performance, particularly in gaming scenarios, with no reported issues.
One of the key advantages of the Zero Connect Box is its ability to simplify TV setup, requiring only a power cable connection to the screen itself. This feature offers greater flexibility in TV placement and reduces cable clutter.
In addition to the Zero Connect Box expansion, LG has announced updates to its QNED Evo Series. The company is transitioning from quantum dots to what it calls a Dynamic QNED Color Solution, promising more realistic and pure color reproduction.
The 2025 models of the QNED Evo series will also introduce advanced AI features. A notable addition is the new AI button on the Magic Remote, replacing the traditional inputs button. This AI integration allows for quick access to keywords and TV features with a short press, while a long press enables personalized searches based on user preferences.
LG’s AI capabilities extend beyond simple searches. The system can offer sophisticated suggestions, such as recommending movies based on a user’s travel plans and preferences. Additionally, the AI enhances viewing experiences through advanced upscaling, fine-tuned HDR, and the conversion of stereo sound to virtualized 9.1.2-channel audio. Voice recognition has also been improved, with better distinction of voices from background noise.
While LG has not yet announced pricing or release dates for the 2025 QNED Evo lineup, industry observers expect more details to emerge following the typical CES announcement pattern.
