The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt or DLR) has awarded contracts for five sub-projects to develop ion trap processors over the next four years. The goal will be to have quantum processors that have at least 50 qubits along with creation of modular technology that can be scale up modular systems to thousands of qubits. The companies working on these projects will be able to take advantage of the offices, laboratories and a clean room in the DLR Innovation Centre in Hamburg and Ulm. DLR’s funding for the awards has come from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). More information about these awards can be found in a news . . .
