Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40-series GPU caught fire in connection to 16-pin power connector. According to a Redditor who owns the card, their GPU actually went up in flames, and parts of it have melted as a result. This is the first report of power-related issues with the Nvidia GeForce RTX-40-series graphics card. Nvidia or Gigabyte may not be aware of the problem, but it’s important to take it with a little bit of skepticism and not assume that this will be a common problem with the new card. The issue may be a result of the thick cable used to fit the card into a less-than-roomy PC case. Cable manufacturers are already working on 90-degree angled connectors to help users with smaller cases fit their card. . . .
