
The Xperia 5 IV is a step down from the 1 IV in size, price, and features. It shares the same emphasis on parity across its camera system. It includes a 24mm-equivalent standard wide, 16mm ultrawide, and 60mm telephoto on the rear panel. Each uses a 12-megapixel sensor — a lower resolution than most 50 or even 100- megapixel flagship cameras these days. Sony spokesperson El Deane Naude says that’s an intentional move to make those high readout speeds possible on all of its cameras. It has other flagship specs to back up its camera features, too, and comes with an equally flagship-y price: $999. The 5 V (side note: what are they going to call next year’s phone? . . .
