Sonos Addresses App Issues, Promises Ongoing Improvements
Sonos, the leading smart speaker manufacturer, has provided an update on its efforts to resolve issues with its mobile application. Nick Millington, the company’s chief innovation officer, detailed the ongoing work to enhance user experience and restore missing features.
In a statement released today, Millington emphasized the company’s commitment to understanding and addressing customer concerns following the app’s redesign in May of last year. “Our team is dedicated to resolving every issue, no matter how small or infrequent,” Millington said.
The update highlights Sonos’ focus on improving the app’s technical performance to meet or exceed user expectations. Millington stressed that closing gaps in functionality and usability compared to the previous version is a top priority, with the restoration of features guided by user feedback.
Sonos has made progress in several areas, including the reintroduction of alarm snoozing and battery status checks for portable speakers. These improvements have been largely driven by user-shared diagnostic information, which has helped the team pinpoint areas requiring attention.
Despite these advancements, Millington acknowledged that progress has been slower than anticipated in some areas. Features such as playlist editing and queuing entire folders are still pending, though he assured users that these functionalities are planned for upcoming releases.
The company continues to encourage user feedback and participation in the improvement process. Sonos users can expect further updates as the company works to enhance its app experience and restore missing features.
