South Korea’s ET News initially reported that Samsung might introduce the slim model in the second quarter of 2025. Adding credibility to these rumors, Smartprix uncovered a listing for a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-S937U in the GSMA IMEI database. This model number aligns with Samsung’s typical naming convention for Galaxy standard, Plus, and Ultra phones, with the “U” potentially indicating a US release.
While specific details about the phone’s features remain scarce, industry experts speculate that Samsung may need to make significant adjustments to components to achieve a slimmer design. This could potentially lead to reductions in processor power, display capabilities, battery capacity, and camera specifications.
The timing of this rumored slim variant coincides with reports of Apple’s plans for a similar model.
