Quantware Awarded €1.1 Million ($1.1M USD) to Develop Develop Superconducting Quantum Processors with Novel Materials

The funding has been provided to Quantware by Quantum Delta NL to find novel materials for a superconducting quantum processor. The goal will be to improve coherence times by an order of magnitude. Quantware has a unique business model in that they create quantum processor chips that they sell to universities and other organizations who want to build up their own quantum processors. It is similar to how Intel or AMD sell microprocessor chips to OEMs who then use the chips as components in their own computers. Quantware’s goal is to enable their customers to build their own QPUs for 1/10th the cost of purchasing a full quantum system externally. More information about this grant is available in a news release on the Quantware website here. . . .
