Boston Dynamics’ latest Atlas robot demonstration video shows the robot finding, fetching, and delivering a tool bag to a human worker.
The humanoid, bipedal robot has been equipped with grabbers and can locate and identify objects using its onboard software and two cameras. The demonstration shows Atlas walking, climbing stairs, and using a plank to reach the worker. The robot then grabs the tool bag, walks to the worker and flings it to the worker.
The video also shows Atlas performing acrobatic moves like flipping and spinning. The plan is to eventually use this robot in manufacturing or construction, but it could also prove useful in other settings.
