Nvidia RTX 5000 Series: Leaked Specs Reveal Massive Memory and Power Upgrades

Nvidia Rumored to Boost Memory and Power in Next-Gen Graphics Cards

Tech giant Nvidia is reportedly set to make significant upgrades to its upcoming GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards, according to recent leaks. The highly anticipated RTX 5090 is said to feature a substantial 32GB of GDDR7 memory, marking a notable increase from its predecessor.

Renowned hardware leaker Kopite7kimi has shared purported specifications for both the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, suggesting that Nvidia is pushing the boundaries of performance with these next-generation GPUs. However, this enhanced capability comes at the cost of increased power consumption.

The flagship RTX 5090 is rumored to have a 600-watt specification, though it remains unclear whether this refers to the entire GPU board or just the chip itself. This represents a significant jump from the RTX 4090’s 450-watt power draw. The card is also said to boast 32GB of GDDR7 memory on a 512-bit bus and feature an impressive 21,760 CUDA cores.

Meanwhile, the RTX 5080 is not far behind in terms of upgrades. It reportedly will consume 400 watts of power, up from its predecessor’s 320 watts. The card is expected to ship with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, utilize a 256-bit memory bus, and pack 10,752 CUDA cores.

Kopite7kimi has built a reputation for accurate Nvidia hardware leaks, having previously revealed specifications for the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 before their official announcements. The leaker has also correctly predicted launch dates and specifications for several other Nvidia products.

While official release dates for the top RTX 50-series cards have not been announced, industry insiders suggest that more information might be revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in early 2025. As anticipation builds, tech enthusiasts and gamers alike are eagerly awaiting further details on these powerful new graphics cards.
