Motorola Unveils Edge 60 Fusion with Unique Canvas Finish
Motorola has announced the launch of its latest midrange smartphone, the Edge 60 Fusion, marking the debut of the Edge 60 series. The device introduces a distinctive faux-canvas finish, exclusive to the teal “amazonite” variant, setting it apart in the competitive smartphone market.
The Edge 60 Fusion will be available in the UK at £299.99, approximately $390, offering consumers a blend of style and functionality. Alongside the teal option, blue and pink versions featuring a faux leather finish will also be available.
Design-wise, the Edge 60 Fusion boasts a molded camera module and a slim body. Motorola is positioning the canvas-effect finish as a key selling point, appealing to users seeking a unique aesthetic. The device also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring robust protection against dust and water.
The UK model of the Edge 60 Fusion features a 6.67-inch OLED screen and a 5,200mAh battery. International variants may offer a larger 5,500mAh battery, resulting in a slightly thicker build. The device will be available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, powered by either a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 or 7400 chipset, with minimal performance differences between the two options.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Edge 60 Fusion appears to sport four cameras. However, this configuration includes a flash and flicker sensor. The main camera boasts 50 megapixels, while the ultrawide camera offers 13 megapixels.
The Fusion is expected to be the first in a potential series of Edge 60 phones. Motorola’s previous Edge 50 series included five models, none of which were launched in the United States. Similarly, the current Edge 60 models are unlikely to reach the American market. U.S. consumers may instead consider the $299.99 Moto G Power as an alternative, though it lacks the OLED display and canvas finish of the Edge 60 Fusion.
As Motorola continues to innovate, industry observers are anticipating the company’s updated Razr flip phones. Rumors suggest the possibility of a wooden finish, reminiscent of the 2014 Moto X, further demonstrating Motorola’s commitment to unique design elements in their smartphone lineup.
