Founder of assistive tech firm based in Antrim named Ireland Entrepreneur of the Year

The head of a Northern Ireland company specialising in technology to help people with communication problems has been named 2022 EY Entrepreneur of the Year. Artin McKay set up Texthelp in Antrim in 1996, focusing at first on helping people with profound speech and dexterity problems. Since then, it’s grown into a world-leading assistive technology company creating software which helps people read, write and express their thoughts more accurately and fluently. Turnover has doubled since the year to 2021, with sales of £26.7m and pre-tax profits of £7.4m respectively, respectively, and 35% on the year before 2020. Turnovers since 2020 have doubled since then, with the company reporting a turnover of £35.5m. . . .
