Alibaba Cloud recently unveiled the Cloud Infrastructure Processing Unit (CIPU) designed to power cloud-native data centers. The CIPU is expected to replace CPU, or the central processing unit, as the core of a new generation of cloud computer system. Alibaba Cloud finds that data centers with traditional CPU at the core are largely hindered by wastage of processing power.
