Bigscreen Unveils Beyond 2: A Custom-Fit VR Headset with Impressive Specs
Bigscreen has announced the release of its latest virtual reality headset, the Beyond 2, boasting a wide 116-degree field of view that surpasses competitors like Meta Quest 3 and Valve Index. The lightweight device, weighing just 107 grams, is set to hit the market with a starting price of $1,019.
The Beyond 2 is compatible with SteamVR base stations and features micro-OLED displays carried over from its predecessor. The headset offers a high-resolution display of 5120 x 2560 pixels and supports refresh rates up to 90Hz. Bigscreen has implemented upgraded pancake optics to ensure edge-to-edge clarity, improved brightness, and reduced glare. Users can also adjust lens positions for optimal pupil distance customization.
For those seeking advanced features, the Beyond 2e model, starting at $1,219, includes eye-tracking capabilities. This version incorporates tiny camera sensors to track eye movements, enhancing applications like VRChat by reflecting realistic eye movements in avatars.
Bigscreen is emphasizing personalization with the Beyond 2. Users with an iPhone XR or newer can create a 3D face scan to receive a custom-fit face cushion. For non-iPhone users, a universal-fit Halo mount and cushion are available as alternatives.
The Beyond 2 will be available in black, orange, and clear cover shell options. Interested consumers can place orders now, with shipments expected to begin in June 2025.
This latest offering from Bigscreen represents a significant step forward in VR technology, combining advanced features with customization options to deliver a tailored virtual reality experience.
