Apple Watch Series 10: AI Cameras to Revolutionize Wearable Tech in 2025

Apple Watch Series 10 to Feature AI-Powered Cameras, Reports Suggest

In a significant leap forward for wearable technology, Apple is reportedly developing new features for the Apple Watch Series 10 that will integrate cameras to enable advanced AI capabilities. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, these innovations are expected to debut within the next two years.

The camera integration will differ between models. The standard Series Watch is set to have cameras embedded within the display, while the Apple Watch Ultra will feature cameras on the side, near the digital crown and button. These cameras are designed to give the watch the ability to “see” and interpret the surrounding environment.

The new Visual Intelligence features are said to be inspired by those introduced with the iPhone 16. These capabilities will allow the watch to perform tasks such as adding event details to calendars and retrieving information about locations like restaurants. Initially, these features will be powered by AI models from other companies, with Apple planning to transition to in-house AI models by 2027.

This development is part of Apple’s broader AI strategy, which is expected to expand to other devices, including AirPods. The AI features are heavily reliant on leadership from Mike Rockwell, who is also tasked with advancing the delayed Siri LLM upgrade. Rockwell, known for leading the development of Vision Pro, continues his work on visionOS.

Looking further into the future, Apple is exploring AR glasses, drawing inspiration from Meta’s Orion concept. These glasses are anticipated to incorporate significant AI elements, although their release is projected to be several years away.

As the tech giant continues to push the boundaries of wearable technology, the integration of AI-powered cameras in the Apple Watch Series 10 marks a significant step towards more intelligent and capable personal devices.
