Amazon Prime Big Deal Days: Massive Discounts Kick Off Early Holiday Shopping

Amazon Announces Second Prime Day Event for October

Amazon has unveiled plans for its second Prime Day event of the year, dubbed “Prime Big Deal Days,” set to kick off on October 8th at 12:01AM PT / 3:01AM ET. The 48-hour shopping extravaganza will run through October 9th, offering Prime members an early opportunity to secure holiday deals.

The e-commerce giant aims to jumpstart the holiday shopping season with this event, featuring significant discounts on a wide range of products. Amazon devices are expected to see price cuts of up to 55 percent, including popular items like Blink Outdoor 4 security cameras, Fire TVs, Eero mesh Wi-Fi systems, and Luna gaming controllers.

In addition to Amazon’s own products, the sale will showcase deals from independent sellers and major brands such as Lego, Fujifilm, Samsung, and Beats. Digital goods and services will also be part of the promotion, with exclusive offers on platforms like Grub Hub Plus and Amazon Music.

While most deals will be exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers, who pay $14.99 monthly or $139 annually for membership, some offers will be available to all shoppers. Industry analysts anticipate competing sales from major retailers like Walmart and Best Buy in response to Amazon’s event.

The Prime Big Deal Days will have a global reach, taking place simultaneously in multiple countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden, and Poland. Japan will host a separate Prime Day event later in October.

As the event approaches, consumers are advised to stay tuned for comprehensive deal coverage, particularly on high-demand items such as 4K TVs, laptops, and noise-canceling earbuds. With this second Prime Day, Amazon continues to reshape the retail calendar, potentially influencing holiday shopping patterns for both consumers and competitors alike.
